Sunday Announcements – September 18, 2022

On Saturday, September 24th, the Vocations Committee will host a Holy Hour of Adoration at 1:00PM the lower church for girls ages 12 through 17 followed by a pizza lunch, a discussion on the theme of “How to Handle Social Media,” recreation and fun. Parents, please encourage your daughters to participate. Contact the parish office for more information.

On Saturday, October 22nd, the Diocese of Brooklyn will have the biannual Pilgrimage to the National Shrine and Basilica of the Immaculate Conception, Washington, DC. You are cordially invited to join the priests and lay faithful of our parish in this one-day Pilgrimage to the nation’s Capital to honor the Mother of God, and pray for our nation, our community and families. Detailed information is available at the church doors. Please make your reservations at the parish office. Space is limited on the bus and may be reserved on a first come, first serve basis.

The English Adult Choir will begin rehearsals on Monday, September 26th, at 7:30 p.m. in the lower church. If you are over 16 years old, enjoy singing and can carry a tune, we invite you to consider joining our choir. The ability to read music is much appreciated, but it is not a requirement. You will be trained to sing in harmony, and will be introduced to sacred music of many different styles and composers. Soprano, alto, tenor, and bass voices are all welcomed. Please leave your name and phone number at the parish office, or just come down to the Rehearsal on the 26th and try it out. Singing the choir may be a service that enhances your faith and sense of belonging in the Church.

We are happy to report that, to date, 186 parishioners have pledged a total of $65,257 to the Annual Catholic Appeal, of which $58,523 have already been collected. We thank those who have donated and invite all to consider joining us to support our local Church. Donation envelopes are available at the church entrances for your convenience.
