Sunday Announcements – October 2, 2022

As you have noticed during Mass today, students enrolled in our parish’ Religious Education Program have begun bringing their own offering envelopes to Sunday Mass.  These weekly envelopes were given for them to use at any Sunday Mass they attend, as a way to encourage Mass attendance and a more mature sense of commitment among children who are preparing for the Sacraments. From now on, as the collection is taken up during Sunday Mass, the priest celebrant will invite all the children to come up and drop their offering envelopes in the designated basket before the Altar. We are grateful to all parents for supporting your child in this worthy effort. More children’s envelopes are available at the church door.

October is the month dedicated to Our Lady and the devotion to the Holy Rosary. We invite and encourage everyone to remain for the recitation of the Holy Rosary after each weekday Mass.

Tuesday, October 4th is the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi. There will be a traditional Blessing of the Animals at Mary’s Garden between the Rectory and the School building at 5pm.  Please bring your pets to be blessed by our priests.

Friday, October 7th is the First Friday of the Month, a special day set aside for Eucharistic devotions. Exposition and public adoration of the Most Blessed Sacrament will take place right after the 8AM Mass and will conclude with Solemn Benediction before the start of the 12 Noon Mass. In the evening, there will be a Holy Hour of Adoration at 6:30PM, followed by a Holy Mass at 7:30PM, both in Spanish. All are invited to spend some time before the Lord on this day.

We are happy to report that, to date, 190 parishioners have pledged a total of $66,607 to the Annual Catholic Appeal, of which $60,479 have already been collected. We thank those who have donated and invite all to consider joining us to support our local Church. Donation envelopes are available at the church entrances for your convenience.
