We thank you for your generous contributions today in our two collections. Your gifts for the hurricane victims will be forwarded immediately to those most in need.
Next weekend, October 22 and 23, will be World Mission Sunday. Our parish will join all Catholic parishes around the world in dedicating a second collection to assist the Church’s mission of evangelization. Your gift will fund the work of missionaries who dedicate their lives to the preaching of the Good News in foreign lands, including remote areas of our own country.
Next Saturday, October 22, 56 members of our parish will participate in the Diocesan Bi-annual Pilgrimage to the National Basilica of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, DC. The group will be led by our pastor Msgr. Cuong Pham, Father Ed Brady and Father Hung Tran. Our bus will leave from the front of our church at 6AM sharp. Breakfast, snacks and beverages will be served during the trip. Participants are asked to arrive here at 5:30AM to allow time for attendance check before departure. Please dress warm for the weather. You are all invited to join us spiritually through prayer and live programs on the diocesan NET TV Channel.
You may have noticed that two beautiful shrines have just been created in the vestibule of the upper church. One dedicated to Our Lady of Mount Carmel, patroness of our parish, and the other dedicated to Our Lady of Guadalupe, Mother of the Americas. This has come from the spiritual vision of our pastor Msgr. Cuong Pham and the desire of many parishioners who wish to see Our Blessed Mother honored in this way. The cost for realizing these two permanent shrines is fifteen thousand dollars ($15,000). We would like to call upon the generosity of all parishioners to help us finance this gift to Our Lady. Please mark clearly your intention for the shrines when leaving your donation at the church or at the parish office. These shrines will be a powerful sign of our devotion and love to the Mother of God.
