Yesterday, we have celebrated, as a community, the Solemn Feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, our parish’s patronal feast. It was truly an occasion of grace for everyone who participated in the Morning Mass with Bishop Brennan, the outdoor Procession and Solemn Mass with Bishop DiMarzio, and the reception in the parish hall. We are deeply grateful to all our clergy, parish leaders and volunteers who have given much of their time, talent and treasure to make the event possible. Your sacrifices and collaboration have been the best gifts to Our Lady as they strengthened the unity of our parish family dedicated to her honor.
Registration is open for our Religious Education Program, with classes starting in September. All children are required to participate in the program in order to receive the Sacraments. Please contact our parish office to register your child as soon as possible. Ensuring that your child grow spiritually in the faith is the best gift that you can give to them.
On Saturday, July 30, from 1PM to 5PM, the Vocation Committee of our parish is sponsoring a special event for all boys and girls ages 12 to 17. This event will begin with a Holy Hour of Adoration with Reflection and Benediction by Father Chris Bethge, our Diocesan Vocations Director, followed by lunch and a discussion on the theme of “Mutual Respect – We Are Wonderfully Made”, and sports activities. Please encourage your children to attend this wonderful event.
We are happy to report that, to date, 163 parishioners have pledged a total of $57,312 to the Annual Catholic Appeal, of which $47,638 have already been collected. We thank those who have donated and invite all to consider joining us in this worthy cause. Donation envelopes are available at the church entrances for your convenience.
