We are grateful to share that, to date, 88 parishioners have already pledged over $35,700 to the Annual Catholic Appeal—a wonderful sign of the faith, love, and generosity of our parish community. If you have not yet participated, we kindly invite you to take an envelope at the church doors and prayerfully consider making a gift.
On behalf of the entire parish, we extend heartfelt congratulations to the 34 children from our Religious Education Program who received their First Holy Communion this weekend. May their encounter with Jesus in the Eucharist deepen their faith and inspire lifelong spiritual growth.
Registration for Religious Education is now open and will continue through September 10. All children are encouraged to enroll as they continue to grow in their faith and prepare to receive the Sacraments. Families who register during the month of May will receive a discounted tuition rate for both new and returning students.
The Committee of St. James the Apostle warmly invites everyone to a Mexican food sale following the 12:30 PM Mass in the gymnasium. All proceeds will benefit the upcoming Feast of St. James this July. We encourage you to stop by, enjoy the food and fellowship, and support this joyful parish celebration.
Attention: Next Saturday, May 23, our parish will joyfully celebrate the 25th Anniversary of the Priesthood of our pastor, Msgr. Cuong Pham. The celebration begins with a Solemn Mass of Thanksgiving at 4:30 PM, followed by a Gala Reception at Leonard’s Palazzo in Great Neck. All parishioners and families are warmly invited to join this festive occasion. Parish groups and ministries are encouraged to reserve tables together at a discounted rate, and coach bus transportation to and from the reception will be available for those who need it. If you have not yet RSVP’d, please do so by the end of this Monday — this is the final deadline to reserve your seats at the reception.
Please note: Due to this special event, next Saturday’s Vigil Mass will begin at 4:30 PM instead of the usual 5:00 PM. Confessions will start half an hour earlier, at 3:00 PM.
On Sunday, May 24, Msgr. Pham will celebrate another Mass of Thanksgiving at 3:00 PM. All are warmly invited to join this special parish celebration. Please extend the hospitality of our parish to the bishops, priests, and distinguished guests who will be joining us for this occasion.
