The 2024 Annual Catholic Appeal is nearing its conclusion on January 3, 2025. Thanks to the generosity of 174 individuals and families, we are steadily approaching our goal of $67,815. If you haven’t had the chance to contribute yet, we warmly encourage you to join this vital mission that supports both our Diocese and parish ministries. Special envelopes are available at the church entrance.
Because December 8 falls on a Sunday this year, the Church has transferred the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception to this Monday/tomorrow, December 9, which remains a Holy Day of Obligation. Masses will be celebrated at 8 AM, 12 Noon in English, and 7:30 PM as a bilingual service, all in the main church.
This Thursday, December 12, we celebrate the Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe, Patroness of the Americas and Unborn Children. Everyone is warmly invited to join the ongoing Novena of Prayers and Devotions organized by our Hispanic community each evening, leading up to an all-night vigil on Wednesday night. On the feast day, there will be a Solemn Outdoor Procession at 6 PM, followed by a Solemn Mass in Spanish at 7 PM, with festivities afterward in the Institute. We hope you can join us for this joyous celebration!
This Friday, December 13, we invite you to our Annual Christmas Tree Lighting and Blessing of the Christmas Manger at 7 PM in front of the Rectory. Join us for live music performances by our choirs, professional DJs and the Mariachi Youth Band, a visit from Santa and his surprised guests, special blessings, toy gifts for children, hot refreshments and many more. We hope to see you there.
This Christmas, you can honor or memorialize a loved one by sponsoring a fresh evergreen wreath for $35. These wreaths will adorn the church’s exterior, creating a festive and prayerful atmosphere for the holiday season. To reserve a wreath, complete the form in the bulletin or visit the parish office by Friday, December 20.
Also, we are hosting our 17th Annual Christmas Giving Box Campaign to support parishioners and children in need. Donations of cash, checks made payable to Our Lady of Mount Carmel, or gift cards can be placed in the giving boxes located in the church vestibules. Thank you for your generosity.
Our Youth Group is hosting a Winter Coat Drive to help those in need. New or gently used coats can be brought before or after all Masses next weekend, or dropped off at the parish office during the week. Let’s keep our community warm this winter.
