DECEMBER 10, 2023

We’re truly grateful to all the boys and girls in our Religious Education Program for their kind offerings this week.

Our parishioners have shown great enthusiasm in participating in the Christmas Wreaths Project. The wreaths are now beautifully decorating our Church and Rectory. They’re quite a sight! You still have the chance to reserve a Christmas Wreath for just $35. Each wreath includes a special tag with the name of those you wish to honor or memorialize. To reserve yours, please fill out the form in the bulletin or get in touch with the parish office. Hurry, as we only have less than 20 wreaths left, available on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Let’s not forget our fellow parishioners in need during this holiday season. You can help by donating to our Christmas Giving Boxes until January 1st. You’ll find the boxes in both the main and side vestibules of the church. We accept cash, checks payable to Our Lady of Mount Carmel, or gift cards.

This Tuesday, December 12 will be the Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe, Patroness of the Americas and the Unborn Children. Our parish will observe this major feast with devotional prayer services sponsored by various Hispanic ministries throughout the night before. These celebrations will culminate in a Solemn Outdoor Procession at 6PM and a Solemn Mass at 7PM in Spanish, followed by festivity in the Institute.

Attention children, teens, and families: Mark your calendars for this Thursday, December 14th, at 7 PM. We’ll be having our Annual Christmas Tree Lighting and Blessing of the Manger Scene right in front of the Rectory. Expect live performances from our parish choirs and the Mariachi Youth Band, a visit from Santa Claus, special blessings, and toy gifts for the children. We’ll also be serving hot refreshments. This event is a fantastic way to celebrate the holiday season with your loved ones.

Another event to look forward to: On Christmas Eve, December 24th, at 9:30 PM, our parish choir will present a Concert of Christmas music spanning from the 15th to 21st century, sung in various languages. The concert will feature the English choir, the Mount Carmel String Trio, and professional percussionists. It’s a beautiful holiday tradition, free of charge. Following the concert, join us for the 10:00 PM Christmas Eve Mass in English.
