On Sunday, at 11:00 AM, the Central Astoria Community Organization and the Variety Boys and Girls Club of Queens will host a Back-to-School Backpack Giveaway in the Institute. One backpack per student; each student must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Attention: Religious Education registration closes on September 10. Faith is one of the greatest gifts we can give to our children. If your child still needs to receive the Sacraments of Initiation, please enroll them now and help them grow closer to Christ.
For families seeking a strong Catholic education, St. Joseph Catholic Academy, right here in our neighborhood, welcomes students from 3-K through Grade 8, with financial assistance available for qualifying families on a first come, first serve basis.
Adults 18 and older who still need Baptism, Holy Communion, or Confirmation are warmly invited to join our one-year Adult Faith Formation program—a wonderful opportunity to deepen your understanding of the Catholic faith while preparing to receive the Sacraments. This Friday, September 4, is First Friday. Adoration follows the 8:00 AM Mass until noon, concluding with Benediction. There will also be a sung Holy Hour at 6:30 PM and Mass at 7:30 PM, both in Spanish.
As part of an agreement between the Diocese of Brooklyn and the State of New York, all parish leaders and volunteers must complete their annual VIRTUS training by September 30. This requirement reflects our commitment to providing a safe environment for our children. Please see the bulletin for details.
