Our Lady of Mount Carmel – July 16, 2015

Please join us to celebrate the parish patronal feast day of Our Lady of Mount Carmel on Thursday, July 16th with a multi-lingual mass at 7:30PM.

Our Lady of Mount Carmel, glorious Queen of Angels, channel of God's tenderest mercy to man, refuge and advocate of sinners, with confidence I prostrate myself before thee, beseeching thee to obtain for me [insert your request here]. In return I solemnly promise to have recourse to thee in all my trials, sufferings, and temptations, and I shall do all in my power to induce others to love and reverence thee and to invoke thee in all their needs. I thank thee for the numberless blessings which I have received from thy mercy and powerful intercession. Continue to be my shield in danger, my guide in life, and my consolation at the hour of death. Amen

God Bless America!

Pentecost is the one time in addition to the Easter Vigil that the pastor is given the faculty to confer the Sacrament of Confirmation. On Saturday, May 23, 2015, at the Vigil Mass of Pentecost, our Pastor, Msgr. Sean G. Ogle, V.F. was privileged to anoint 13 people, shown in the picture below. These candidates have been studying and preparing for this day to receive this third sacrament of initiation. May the Holy Spirit illuminate not only these candidates but also the entire parish so that we may grow in the holiness of the Lord. Video of the event has been posted on You Tube.

On June 7, Corpus Christi Sunday, close to 400 parishioners processed to the four corners of the parish block where 4 altars were set up for benediction thanks to: Italian, Filipino, Vietnamese and Hispanic communities. Led by Fr. Joe Pham with Deacon Manuel Barahona, visiting seminarian Vincent Vu carrying the "ombrellino" and Msgr. Sean Ogle. Pictures by Msgr. Sean Ogle. CLICK HERE for video on YouTube.

The Mount Carmel CYO volleyball program had yet another strong season. Our 4th, 5th, 8th graders and our high school team made it to the finals held this pastSunday at Monsignor McClancy High School. Our Junior high school team won it all. All the girls played their best. We are proud of all the teams’ accomplishments.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank all the coaches for a great job and for the numerous hours they volunteered to teach volleyball to the 110+ kids in the program this year. Their dedication makes a tremendous difference and enhance our community and we want to say thank you and we hope to see all of you again next season. Congratulations to all!
