On October 27^th, 2012, Our Lady of Mount Carmel along with other parishes in the Diocese of Brooklyn went on a pilgrimage to THE BASILICA OF THE NATIONAL SHRINE OF THE IMMACULATE CONCEPTION.

This Pilgrimage is a spiritual journey and tribute to our Blessed Mother which we, as a Diocese, make every other year. The services end with Mass where we pray for the needs of our country, our diocese and our parish family. We travelled with our neighbors from St Francis of Assisi. Here are some pictures from the trip.

Our fourth annual procession in honor of Corpus Christi on Sunday, June 10, 2012 took place.  Approximately 200 parishioners joined our Pastor, Msgr. Sean G. Ogle, Rev. Ed Brady and Deacon Manuel Barahona as we celebrated benediction at three altars.  The Italian Society, Vietnamese Apostolate and the Spanish Community each prepared an altar in their respective language.  We walked the four blocks around the church saying a Rosary in English, Italian and Spanish and concluded the procession with benediction on the main Altar of the church. Bishop Nicholas DiMarzio added a new element to the Easter celebration of our Diocesan family: The Distinguished Parishioner Awards! Every two or three years, the Bishop presents two parishioners from every parish in the Diocese a special award for their outstanding service.  Pastor, Msgr. Sean G. Ogle consulted with his staff and we are so proud to announce that the award winners from Our Lady of Mount Carmel in Astoria are
BETTY COFFRINI and MARTHA MOSLER! The Queens County ceremony took place at St. Nicholas Church in Jamaica which on April 20, 2012. We warmly congratulate the ladies!
