Pentecost is the one time in addition to the Easter Vigil that the pastor is given the faculty to confer the Sacrament of Confirmation. On Saturday, May 23, 2015, at the Vigil Mass of Pentecost, our Pastor, Msgr. Sean G. Ogle, V.F. was privileged to anoint 13 people, shown in the picture below. These candidates have been studying and preparing for this day to receive this third sacrament of initiation. May the Holy Spirit illuminate not only these candidates but also the entire parish so that we may grow in the holiness of the Lord. Video of the event has been posted on You Tube.

Before 450 family and friends on Saturday, May 16, 2015, we had First Communion for 86 students from our CCD program. Here are pictures of the children inside church and in the courtyard after First Communion and for the crowning of the Blessed Mother. Along with the children is Pastor, Msgr. Sean G. Ogle, Parochial Vicar and Moderator of the CCD Program, Father Peter Nguyen and Coordinator of CCD, Nelly Espinal-Gutierrez. We congratulate all the teachers for their commitment to the religious education and training of the children. Pictures courtesy of Reyna Cortes and Neida Martinez.

The Mount Carmel CYO volleyball program had yet another strong season. Our 4th, 5th, 8th graders and our high school team made it to the finals held this pastSunday at Monsignor McClancy High School. Our Junior high school team won it all. All the girls played their best. We are proud of all the teams’ accomplishments.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank all the coaches for a great job and for the numerous hours they volunteered to teach volleyball to the 110+ kids in the program this year. Their dedication makes a tremendous difference and enhance our community and we want to say thank you and we hope to see all of you again next season. Congratulations to all!
