Early Childhood and Elementary Catholic Education is alive and well in Long Island City/Astoria/Woodside.  Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church is officially affiliated with St. Joseph Catholic Academy in Long Island City.  Please follow the link to learn more about the programs, registration information and tuition at the Academy.  Pastor, Msgr. Sean G. Ogle, serves on the Board of Members.

Bishop Di Marzio presented "Shining Star"awards for the Catholic Migration Office for 2010 to our parishioners: Karel and Vlasta Krupka (Czech); Joseph Thai Van Thach (Vietnam); and Rosita Hernandez (Cuba). Rosita has been the organist at our Spanish Mass for over thirty years and a leader in our Cursillo, as well as playing organ for the Italian Mass. Congratulations to all our honorees.

Bishop Di Marzio awards the 2009 "Shining Star" awards to spouses Tran Chu and Xuan Nguyen, leaders in our Vietnamese community.
